Franco Barbeite was born in Havana Cuba in 1973. He began his artistic career in 1990 as the youngest winner ever of the Helen Gubair Grant for metal sculpture. In 1993, at 19, he optioned his first screenplay and graduated a year later from NYU Film School an Honor’s Scholar. After working as first assistant editor on Ed Harris’s Academy Award winning feature film “Pollock,” designing the look of Universal Television’s national hit show “Blind Date,” and creative directing the 2000 editorial awards for “The Los Angeles Times,” Franco wrote and produced for USA Broadcasting and FX Channel where he collaborated with 5 time Emmy Award winning writer Sandy Frank. Franco became interested in directing after assisting and performing in music videos directed by Joseph Kahn for artists “Foxy Brown,” “Nas,” and others. An award-winning director of music videos and commercials with clients including GBX Shoes, Loews Cinemas, 7-Up, Clear Channel Communications, MarinelliCommunications, ZR Productions, and RA Records, Franco lives in New York City. |
